At Trustio, we are committed to providing a fair, transparent, and reliable platform for reviews in the construction and built environment sector. This Review Policy outlines how we handle, moderate, and manage reviews left on our platform.


Purpose of Reviews

The review system on Trustio allows customers and clients to share genuine feedback about construction professionals, tradespeople, and companies they’ve worked with. Our aim is to promote accountability, trust, and quality across the sector.


Who Can Leave a Review?

Reviews may only be submitted by individuals who have had direct, first-hand experience with the professional or company being reviewed. You must:

  • Be a verified user of Trustio.

  • Have engaged the professional/company for a completed or substantially completed job.

  • Submit your review within 12 months of the work being done.


What Is Allowed in a Review

A review must be:

  • Honest and fact-based

  • Respectful and non-abusive

  • Relevant to the work carried out

  • Free from personal attacks, threats, discriminatory or defamatory language

Reviews can include:

  • Overall satisfaction

  • Timeliness, quality, communication, and professionalism

  • Price/value feedback

  • Photos of the work (optional)


Moderation Process

All reviews are subject to moderation before publication. We check for:

  • Authenticity (to prevent fake or spam reviews)

  • Compliance with this policy and our Terms of Use

  • Language and tone (reviews must be respectful)

We reserve the right to edit, refuse, or remove any review that violates this policy or is under legal challenge.


Disputing a Review

If you believe a review is false, malicious, or unfair:

  1. Log in and click “Report Review” next to the review in question.

  2. Provide any supporting evidence (e.g. project records, communication logs).

  3. Our moderation team will investigate and may temporarily unpublish the review during this process.

Note: We do not remove reviews simply because they are negative. A balanced, fair review history helps maintain platform credibility.


Right of Reply

Reviewed professionals and businesses may publicly respond to any review. We encourage polite, professional responses — especially where there is a disagreement or opportunity to clarify.


Incentivised Reviews

Trustio does not allow paid or incentivised reviews. Offering rewards, discounts, or gifts in exchange for reviews is strictly prohibited and may result in account suspension.


Review Removal

We reserve the right to remove a review if it:

  • Contains offensive, illegal or defamatory content

  • Breaches our Community Guidelines

  • Was submitted by someone with no direct connection to the job

  • Is found to be part of a review manipulation scheme


Legal Considerations

Reviews reflect the opinion of the reviewer, not of Trustio. However, we take legal complaints seriously and comply with UK defamation law, data protection law (UK GDPR), and eCommerce regulations.
